Lehman Elementary come with us to discover the magic of learning what makes our school unique is that we really focus on giving the children a well-rounded education we do this by including things like steam the Arts social motion learning in problem-based learning we definitely have an emphasis on Steam science technology engineering arts and Mathematics and one of the reasons why the kids get so excited about science here is they don't just look at it and read it how did they actually get to use the materials where they are creating things that solve problems in the real world where you can experiment with stuff like a light without electric you can turn on a light bulb technology utilize iPads and Chromebooks get to do block coding they do Robotics and graduate in fifth grade doing python coding our children go on at least two field trips for each grade level every year that and how the curriculum last year our fourth grade class went on a sleepover camp for 3 days called Polly and it's really really fun to go to Catalina which most of the kids wish they didn't even know go home after three days that's how much fun they had we have a committee called Foley friends of West Hollywood Elementary School and they are fundraising group they work together with the school in order to make sure that we have all the funds that we need do things like our field trip music teacher and our teacher a dance teacher theater teacher are in class experiences that we have materials and our extra staff we have a full-time certificated PE teacher did you physical education that is very focused and targeted to the students needs Richmond ferry from here to here depending on student interest and the curriculum so mean Richmond's that students may experience here at West Hollywood Elementary we are music art drama theater improv debate gardening gate enrichment second grade Hall of Heroes fifth grade songwriting and we're always adding as student interest change my favorite school program here is choir art if you can makes it feel like you're at home find a way to make all the subjects fun and it's really nice that they capture the kids creativity and Imagination with all these kind of outside the box ways of learning subjects I love the school be has the teachers are very supportive and makes me very comfortable before school during recess after school to help your children the teacher here are really really nice and I think they make learning really fun they kind of change your lives forever and leave a huge impact on you through school so it's up our kids for Success not only academically but also socially which is really important beyond our Academic Program social emotional wellness and the whole child is very critical to our learning every day we're really lucky to have a huge support staff this includes a full-time psychologist. in the classroom and supervision AIDS outside at recess and lunch to make sure that we have in Richmond's for the students after hours we have after school programs here after school programs are great we have a soccer program that I sent all my kids through we also cooking class we've done robotics language and guitar all those kind of Segway Dan to letting my kids explore what they wanted to do later in life I would recommend the school the teachers really pushed you academically and because of all the fun programs they provide this school provide the academics the social education in the Arts the Athletics it's something that you won't find anywhere else in LA so what's you're going to find here at West Hollywood Elementary is a partnership of students teachers staff parents and a community all working together to support students to achieve their dreams and goals whatever those might be
